The Migori county assembly will vet six county executives appointed by governor Ochillo Ayacko on Monday and Tuesday.

The county assembly through the clerk announced that the nominees will be vetted, and they include:

  • Mr. Maurice Otunga Nyanjagah- Finance and Economic Planning
  • Dr. Mogesi Betty Samburu- Education, Gender, Youth Sports and Social Services
  • Mr. Lucas Mosenda Chacha-  Agriculture, Livestock, Veterinary Services, Fisheries and Cooperative Development
  • Mr. Rahab Robi Chacha- Environment, Natural Resources and Disaster Management
  • Mr. Caleb Oduor Opondi- Public Service Management and Devolution

The team will appear before the assembly Committee on Appointments for approval hearing in sessions that will be held at Florence Hotel in Migori town.

Already they were asked to collect questionnaires from the assembly and carry relevant documents for the interviews, before the results are taken to the governor for final appointments.

During his county address at the assembly, Ayacko called on MCAs and members of the public to actively ask and question the nominees on their agenda to the county and what they have to offer to voters.

“We want this assembly to help put the executive to the account and robustly ask these nominees of their agenda and also follow up on service delivery to Migori voters by bringing to our attention any problem encountered by residents because we have voters who gave us the most diverse MCAs,” Ayacko said.

Ayacko is yet to appoint four more waziris, which may happen soon.
