420 students from Masaba Ward have benefited from Sh2m Ward Development Fund released by Migori county assembly.

During the distribution of the fund, area member Abedi Maroa told parents in Migori to boost family discipline and prevent child-labor which adversely affect education.

Addressing parents at Nyamagagana secondary school during Maroa said that many parents have failed to give directives to their children.

Abedi said it is unfortunate for parents to allow their under-18 year’s old children to drop out of schools and to operate as boda boda riders later get married under poorest conditions.

He asked for responsible employment to youths urging those providing work for youths to first ask for their identification cards to confirm they are mature enough to be engaged.

Abedi also urged parents to bless their children instead of cursing them and calling them funny names whenever they fail academically telling students to take their academics seriously.
