Six arrested over AP death at Total Estate

Migori police have arrested six suspects, including a taxi driver, over the death of an AP constable at total estate.

The suspects are suspected to be behind the death of Moses Kembo Komolikat who was stabbed to death at a petrol station when he transporting a suspect.

Simon Magero, the sub county administration police commander said that the slain officer who was alone when attacked by a suspect identified as Peter Chacha Mwita who he was transporting to police station.

Komolikat was stabbed to death by a sharp knife by the suspect who later fled when he stepped outside a taxi to call for reinforcement.

His attacker pounced on him with a knife killing him on the spot.

Magero said the suspect was being arrested after acquiring Sh60,000 in false pretense of offering a money laundering machine to two Somali businessmen.

“The police officer was called by two people of Somali origin telling him to help them take the suspect to the police station after the suspect failed to hand them a money laundering machine he was to sell them,” said Magero.

He said when they arrived at the scene after being called they found their colleague writhing in pain and the suspect had escaped into the dark.

Police identified the arrested suspect as the taxi driver Alex Onyango, Abdullahi Omar Abdi, Elias Makhati, Eric Ouma Peter, who is the son to the suspect, and the two wives to the escaped suspect Morrine Atieno and Lydia Nyaboke Peter.

They are being held at the Migori police station awaiting arraignment in court when investigations are over while the body was taken to Migori level Four Hospital awaiting postmortem.
