Police post to be built on Migori, Narok border to curb cattle rustling

THE government will build a police station at the Narok-Migori counties border at Masurura to ensure peace prevails in the volatile area.

Narok Governor Samuel Tunai and Kilgoris MP Gideon Konchellah said this during the burial of a resident called Samson ole Cherikat on Saturday.

Cherikat was shot dead by armed gangsters last week outside his compound.

This is after he responded to a distress call when thugs attacked his neighbours.

Tunai and Konchellah appealed to the area residents to remain calm and give the government a chance to unravel the murder of the deceased.

They said crucial leads have been found by the security officers, with locals vowing to avenge if nothing is done to bring the culprits to book.

“I would like to assure you that the government will be build a police station in Masurura because very many people have been killed by armed gangsters in the last two years here,” Tunai said.
