Migori county assembly has made resolutions over the better ways of dealing with fire emergency outbreak in other county.
Speaking with the press in Nyabisawa secondary school Kakrao ward representative Joe jack Gucha said the county government will do all it can to help contain such incidence.
“As the county assembly we have come up with a resolution that will ensure at least three firefighting machines are supplied in different parts of the county, “he said.
Migori county government donated materials worth sh.600’000 to both Nyabisawa girls and Nyarongi secondary schools that recently victim of the fire tragedy.
The materials that included mattresses, blankets and sanitary towels will help assist the students that were affected by the fire incidence.
Chief Officer in charge of environment and disaster management Joshua Ngwala said the county will look on the ways of dealing with emergency incidence in the county.
Ngwala also urged the administration of the various schools to be close with the students and always give them a right protection that assures them of their safety.
“The county government is working on ways of dealing with emergency issues that has so far derail our development process in the county, we take it as our responsibility and we shall give the right call for that,” he said.
However the school principal Beatrice Kure promise that the incidence will not interfere with the form four learning activities and assures of getting a better result in the national examination with all he challenges.
“We have got a big challenge as a school because this is not the first time this is happening to our school so we are ready to take the challenge,” added Mrs. Kure
Already fire victims from Nyabisawa Girls Secondary School in Migori County have been discharged from hospital.
They walked home yesterday with their parents after staying in hospital for two days. The institution has already sent away its students for a half term vacation, perhaps to take stock of the incident.
Five of the 12 students however were still admitted at the Migori Level Four and Akidiva hospitals although doctors described their conditions as “very stable”.
This is the third school to get burnt in Migori County within the past one week. Ulanda Girls and Nyarongi Mixed Secondary schools have also witnessed similar incidence.
