CAREER PROFILE: 5 Years Medical Laboratory Management Experience
Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform cellular and sub-cellular (molecular) diagnosis of pathogens using RT – PCR, microarray analytical technique, immunoprecipitation, ELISA, ELISPOT amokng others. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• Currently: Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital; Medical Laboratory Technologist, Biochemist Department, Section of ICU/HDU/CCU. I am fully involved in Point of care test among others for patients designated in the mentioned sections. I am fully utilizing Blood Gases machine (RapidPoint-Siemens), Cobas C311, also make daily maintenance/calibration and occasional trouble shooting.
• November 2013 – December 2014: SIMAHO – NGO :USAID Partner, Garissa County, Laboratory Manager and Non-Communicable Infection Prevention Manager, diagnosis of human pathological conditions, genetic disorders, and prognosis/management of diseases including HIV in infants and discordant couples. I have knowledge in Molecular diagnosis of HIV using Real-Time PCR; using of DBS among other samples.
• December 2012 to 30th Sept, 2013: Laboratory Manager at Savannah Healthcare Service, Nairobi CBD, Kenyatta Avenue, Gilfilan House, Mezzanine Floor. • Performed daily, weekly, monthly maintenance, Internal Quality Control (IQC) and troubleshooting on the bioanalyzers and document accordingly.
• Ensured manual, routine, specialized, and outsourced tests were allocated their rightful sample material and turn around time (TAT) of tests performed was maintained and prepared tests in all Pre analytical, Analytical and Post analytical phases.
• Ensured that all urgent and abnormal results were communicated to users immediately through LIS.
