Shock and grief has engulf residents of Uriri after fire gutted down a dormitory at Rapogi High School on Tuesday as students were reporting back from holidays.

Over Sh3.6million worth of property went up in flames as a dormitory was completely razed down forcing over 80 students in the dorm to spend the last two nights in classrooms.

The school’s principal Maurice Ndolo said the cause of the fire is yet to be established.

He said nobody was hurt during the incident and called for well-wishers to help construct the dormitory.

Residents have called on the Migori county government to move with speed and buy fire-fighting engines.
