Health discharge PSM as County Government tourney kicks off

Day one of the Migori County Sports ended with Health department the biggest winners.

Environment and Finance also registered victory in their matches with the last group matches set for early morning tomorrow Environment began the long day with a 2-1  win over Education .

Francis Adongo and Dan Achola were both on target with Education profiting from an own goal by Okoth Jairus.

The second match saw  Health wallop pre tournament favourites  Public Service Management 3-0 in a one sided match that saw Robert Okello, Austin Oduor and Bernard Omondi scoring.

Lands later on were held to a goalless draw with Roads while Finance registered a 1-0 win over Agriculture courtesy of Erick Jalango strike.

In other matches PSM registered a draw against Water with Peter Ouma and Collins Ochieng scoring for either teams.

Education settled to a 0-0 draw with Roads in their second match before Environment wrapped up the day with a 1-1 draw with Lands.

Action shifts tomorrow with Health taking on Finance in an early kick off.

The winners and runners up in the two groups will play in the semis set for tomorrow afternoon with the final set for 4pm and will be graced by the Governor HE Okoth Obado.

Speaking to Migori News at the Migori stadium, County referees coordinator Martin Odong’ said the teams showed high levels of discipline despite most players being elderly.
