Tony’s death shows political intolerence in Migori- Okula Jack

??????????By Okula Jack

In utter shock and dismay, I’ve received the heart-wrenching and saddening news of Tony’s passing on. Tony was a politically-vibrant young man known to many within Migori County and beyond. The means by which he met his death is as cruel as it is to be condemned.

We are breeding a generation, in our once peaceful County, of politically intolerant young men and women who believe that the solution that lies in any difference is violence and the silencing of our opponents; real or perceived.

As we mourn our brother, Tony, we are to be convinced that violence is not a means of solving our differences-political or otherwise. It is our desire to live in a County defined by peace and not characterized by fear and trembling. We must also remember that in spite of our differences, we are brothers and sisters, belonging to one County, one People. Whatever it is that brings us together is weightier than that which divides us.

The Family of Tony, his relatives and friends shall be in our prayers and thoughts during these mourning and trying times. We pray, earnestly so, that the Almighty God gives them the fortitude to bear the irredeemable loss.
My deepest condolences to the bereaved.
