Wanga Puts A Smile On 275 Homa Bay Form One Students With Full Scholarships

As learners who sat their KCPE in 2022 are set to join form one today (Monday” 275 students have a reason to smile as Homa Bay County Government through the departments of education award them fully sponsored sponsorship amounting to KSh30million.

The Governors Fins to Swim Scholarship Program cheques and other basic needs were issued to the beneficiaries on Friday by Governor Gladys Wanga at Homa Bay High School playgrounds.

The fully funded  program cater for the total school fees,basic needs,all the requirements including pocket money and other basic needs to the beneficiaries from form one upto form four from the County.

The beneficiaries for the scholarship kit include the students who have  been admitted to a national,extra County or County Secondary Schools and scored a maximum of 360 marks in KCPE.

Wanga promised that her administration will continue with the program for the beneficiaries University education God willing.

“We basically considered  top scorers in the KCPE national examination from confirmed poor backgrounds who have benefitted from full scholarship to join their dream secondary schools,” said Wanga.

“My administration toether with the County Assembly set a side KSh30million for the  program and another Ksh100 to all our 40 wards to help in paying school fees for our children in various learning institutions, ” said Wanga.

The Governor who was flanked by education CECM Martine Opere among other dignitaries said the issuance of the scholarship is but just the beginning of helping needy students.

According to Wanga her administration had agreed with the Members of the County Assembly to increase the allocation to absorb more students in the next disbursement scheduled for December this year.

“I know the number of needy students across the County might be big but as a government we will ensure that we increase the allocation for the second,third,forth as we move forward so that more students can get an opportunity to acquire better
