Luo music star Emma Jalamo has publicly declared he will vie again for the Sigomre ward seat in Ugunja constituency, Siaya county.

Jalamo unsuccessfully vied for the seat in the last general election and lost, in what he blamed for abuses hauled at him and his supporters by his rivals.

So bitter was the campaigns that after losing, Jalamo rushed to studios and composed a song “Wek Yanyo Jathum (Stop insulting the musician)” which was an instant hit.

“I heard my rivals here today declaring that this campaigns should not be laden by insults, if they take that direction i don’t see why i should not be the next MCA,” Jalamo said.

He was speaking at a function organised by Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi where he received a rousing welcome.

He said despite taking a break from politics, he was now firmly in the race.
