A Migori KCSE candidate has gone missing after he was allegedly abducted at Witharaga in Suna East constituency.

Martin Odhiambo was reported missing Tuesday evening moments after he left his school from evening preps to prepare for his ongoing exams.

According to Witharaga Mixed Secondary school Principal Gideon Odhiambo, the student sent a text message to a fellow female candidate informing her of the abduction.

The principal said that the female student informed them that Odhiambo had been abducted by unknown people in a Toyota Probox and driven off towards Ogwedhi center which is 10 kilometers away.

The principal added that the student was one of the best candidates in the school and they had high hopes of him doing better in the national exams since he had been performing much better in the previous exams.

The student missed his Christian Religious Education paper that was done earlier today.

Odhiambo’s mother Susan Adoyo said that her son left the home at 8 PM yesterday and never came back.

Samwel Owino, a neighbour, said Odhiambo always took his evening studies at school as their home did not have electricity that would enable him to conduct his studies well.

Migori County Criminal investigation officer Benedict Kigen said that the police are aware of the incident and have launched investigations.
