Migori governor aspirant Ochillo Ayacko has also been told to avail his written defection from Narc Kenya to ODM after attacking Okoth Obado.

Ayacko was floored both in nominations and general elections for Rongo MP seat in 2007 by Dalmas Otieno after he decamped to Charity Ngilu’s party in a huff.

Speaking to Migori News, County Communication Director Matiko Bohoko said Ochillo’s statement was shallow, sought cheap political mileage and directly undermined Cord leader Raila Odinga in Migori.

“When he says Obado should defect in writing, which written document does he have to show he returned to ODM when he defected to Narc Kenya after being defeated as a legislator?” Matiko posed.

Obado had publically defected from Jubilee affiliated PDP which sponsored him in last polls to ODM on July 8 during Suna East MP Junet Mohammed’s homecoming party.

The Ochillo statement has created social media buzz with supporters of two politicians attacking each other degenerating down to personal attacks.

Bohoko said both Ayacko and Obado stand in the same equal field in terms of loyalty to ODM party as both of them defected due to sham nominations.

But Suna West ODM SecGen Shem Were pointed out the defection debate should not raise and will not hold water on who gets nomination certificate.

“The fact of the matter is that when the two were defecting there are other governor aspirants like Anne Omodho Anyanga and Mike Nyamita who stuck with ODM in last polls through thick and thin,” Were said.

During Obado’s defection, Raila said the move by Obado doesn’t mean there will be and preferential treatment insisting Obado joins the queue with 9 other aspirants for the ticket.
