Migori governor Okoth Obado will be escorted by police before a senate committee to answer audit queries on use of funds.

Senate County Public Accounts and Investment Committee (CPAIC) has ruled that Obado should be escorted by the police.

Obado had skipped summons on May 6 at Kisii town when he was summoned by the committee chaired by his political nemesis senator Ochillo Ayacko.

He will now appear before the committee in Nairobi on 4th of June 2021 if he does not do it voluntarily, he may be escorted by police.

Obado and his county executive failed to honor summons to appear before the committee nor provide documents to government auditors.

They were to respond to audit queries raised by the Auditor General.

“Those holding public office should be ready to account how they use taxpayer’s money. We expect Migori County government to show cause for their decision,” Ayacko said in his Facebook page.
