Migori ODM chairman Philip Makabong’o and his family have demanded police to speed up investigations after arsonists attacked their homes five months ago.

Makabong’o said his family lives are in danger after the March 31 incident has left his family traumatised as police are yet to arrest and charge any suspects, despite them writing several statements.

He said on the fateful day, he woke up to find his car a Toyota Sprinter and his son Patrick Odhiambo Makabong’o Subaru on fire started by suspected arsonists.

“I have struggled to take my car back to road, my son’s car is written off. What saddened us is that the arsonists my come back and set our homes ablaze and kill us off,” Makabong’o said.

He said the shell of the burnt cars still parked in front of their house traumatise them and insisted that they named suspects who keep on blaming them.

They reported the matter at Kamagambo Police Station under the OB no: 21/31/3/2019.

“We have been loudly wondering why police have delayed in their investigations and made any arrests, we need to find justice to help us heal our trauma,” Patrick said.

Rongo sub-county criminal investigation officer Kipkemboi Rop said they have been following up with the case and they have not neglected it as they are awaiting report from the government chemist.
