Kuria leaders vow to give Jubilee 100% votes after State House visit

Kuria leaders have told NASA leader not to bother campaigning in the area as they will give Jubilee’s Uhuru Kenyatta 100 per cent votes after State House visit.

The politicians have vowed to forge a united front in campaigning for Uhuru in the repeat poll after 2,000 people delegation from the region visited the State House on Wednesday.

The leaders were led by Kuria East MP Marwa Kitayama Maisori and his Kuria West counterpart Mathias Robi.

In the August presidential poll, whose results were nullified by the Supreme Court, president Uhuru Kenyatta garnered 41,951 votes (65 per cent of the cast votes) while National Super Alliance presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga garnered 21,202 votes (34 per cent of the cast votes) in Kuria.

The two MPs in the region, Mr. Kitayama(Kuria East) and Mr. Robi(Kuria West), were both elected on Jubilee tickets.

“We will ensure that this time round the president will get all the votes in Kuria. Those votes which went to that other person (National Super Alliance’s Raila Odinga) will all go to president Uhuru,” said Kitayama.

Other leaders present during the meeting included former Migori senator Wilfred Machage and senator aspirant Solomon Hodo.

They said Jubilee has initiated a number of major development projects and will fulfill pledges made ahead of August 8 poll.

“I would like to thank you for the votes you gave me in August 8th polls. I also thank you for electing two jubilee MPs. I assure you the national government will continue working for you to ensure you get the services you require,” Kenyatta promised the crowd.

Kenyatta had created Ntimaru and Mabera sub-counties and said new sub-county commissioners will be sent to the area soon.

“The CS for water will in the next two visit visit areas of Kebaroti, Kegonga and Gokeharaka to initiate water projects,” said the president.

Deputy President Ruto said that the government will soon start building the road linking Kehancha and Narok.

“As we speak, the bridge connecting Narok and Kehancha has been built and soon the construction of the road linking the two towns will begin,” said Mr.Ruto.
