Principal Secretary Nelson Marwa has told off two Kuria community legislators from constantly attacking the Building Bridges Initiative which he said has already passed.
Marwa said Kuria East MP Marwa Kitayama and his Kuria West counterpart Mathias Robi who are close allies of Deputy President William Ruto should tone down their attacks.
“Sisi kama wakuria, upige ama usipige Kura hiyo BBI bado itapita. Sasa tunapaswa kujumuika na wakenya wengine, (As Kuria members, even if we vote or not in the referendum, BBI will have to pass. We have to join other Kenyans in the vote to avoid isolation)” Marwa said.
He was speaking at the funeral Chacha Masubo, former Kehancha mayor.
He said have incited the Kuria community against the document and in the process they have antagonise them with Luos in Migori.
“A leader should always preach unity, what Kitayama and Robi are doing is formenting tribal division in Migori county by constantly attacking president Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga,” Marwa said.
Marwa said he was shocked that the two legislators who were hyping the forthcoming Ruto’s visit were doing so in basis of dividing the county among Luo, Luhya and Suba communities.
“I will personally inform Ruto that by constantly antagonising and inciting Migori residents against Kenyatta and Raila, the two leaders were hurting his presidential bid. 2022 is still far to forment tribalism in Migori,” Marwa said.
He said government will ensure the 2020 constitution amendment bill is passed in a referendum.
He warned the two leaders that if they continue with the trend,”then government will have a high powered campaign for the referendum that will see those two legislators go home in the morning.”
Whether we like it,Migori reminds to be for our of us.what is needed is leaders to preach unity for development of all tribes that are in migori county and forget ourself interest.See how other tribes unity work.
Kuria is not for individuals again, let everyone benefit because we have many educated people but they miss support from our leaders.
KIDOLE KIMOCHA HAKIFUNJI CHAWA.Meaning the more you have many people in power the better.Learn from other tribe like Kalajins when opportunity comes they support there own.
God bless as all to tell our people truth.
infact kitayama is a scam ,he’s not concentrating on developmental agendas rather he’s flying with helicopters trying to illucidate the arrogance and not attending to the subject he was elected to do.we know him following Ruto up and down in the name of BBI is extremely not appealing WE MUST VOTE for BBI
Maroa you should respect negative opinions, you are in need of promotion as they are,who knows the table may turn.
