Jubilee Party applied pressure to former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto to ditch NASA by dangling ongoing corruption audit queries.

The same has been said t apply to governors, especially those who lost in last elections, not to support NASA,
Rutto has pending audit queries that could land him in trouble with the EACC after he lost his seat, a daily paper reported.

Rutto is being investigated for acquiring immense wealth, including a helicopter, 40 earthmovers, tippers and graders, and a palatial residence worth Sh33 million in Ngong, Kajiado County.

The commission puts Mr Ruto’s accumulated wealth at Sh400 million and the value of the aircraft at Sh300 million.
Among the most damning is plan by Ruto to hire Red Cross ambulances at a cost of Sh650,000 a month, which was seen as a reap off.

NASA principal Musalia Mudavadi sent a statement to newsrooms that their attempt has also gone to NASA affiliated governors who are being blackmailed into surrender.

“The most disturbing feature of this arbitrary political pressure to concede defeat is that it involves threats and intimidation, particularly by waving the spectre of prosecution, unwarranted and excessive tax assessments and demands, and interference with legitimate business or other enterprises,” he said in a statement.

Among those who have resisted the blackmail is former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero who took a salvo at President Uhuru Kenyatta after he claimed NASA is broke as there was no governor’s to fund them after they lost.
Kidero termed the results as un-presidential.
