Homa Bay MCA’s home in Rongo town raided

Violent politics in Homa Bay spilled over in Migori after an MCA from neighbouring county had his house raided by hooligans believed to have been hired by a prominent politician in Homa Bay.

South Kabuoch MCA Oscar Ouma Dibuoro’s residential house in Rongo Town was raided this weekend and his personal belongings carried away.

Dibuoro was away in Kisumu for official duty when his house was attacked in what the MCA said was caused by political differences.

Addressing the press in Rongo town After recording statement with the police the MCA expressed fear over his life and appealed for more security.

“I am not safe as the hooligans left a word that they would come back for me. They said I must die before the end of the year,” he said.

An eye witness Calvins Nyamanga said that hooligans were chanting that they do not want Dibuoro and they wanted to kill him.

“It is unfortunate for incident of that kind to occur few kilometers away from the Rongo Police station. It showed police laxity,” Nyamanga said.

He said relatives were woken up by a loud bang as hooligans struggled to gain entry but it was too late to raise alarm as the main steel door of the house had already been broken.

Armed with crude weapons, they attacked and harassed relative who were taken to Rongo District Hospital.

Confirming the incident, Rongo OCPD Thomas Ngeiywa condemned the incident and promised to carry out through investigations  with a view of apprehending perpetrators of such hooliganism.

He added that it’s wrong to come into other peoples territory without notice and also that one should report the where he has been wronged instead of attacking others whereas the police are always ready to deal with such issues.

He said the law will take it cause upon getting those who planned the attack and will nit spare anybody regardless of his position.
