Govt to spend Sh400m for new bridges for Sh1.5billion Sori-Masara road

Nyatike residents will have more to celebrate after Sh400million more will be allocated for the Sh1.5billion Masara-Sori road upgrade into tarmac.

infrastructure permanent secretary Paul Mwangi has said Sh300million will be used to construct a new bridge over river Migori while Sh100million will add lanes in in another narrow bridge over river Kuja.

The two, he said will aid progress on 41 kilometers road in Nyatike constituency.

He was speaking on Friday in Migori county when hosted by Nyatike MP Tom Odege in parliament transport committee tour.

Odege also called on government to help speed up the completion of Muhuru Bay-Migori-Kehancha-Lolgorian-Narok tarmacking of c13 road which will reduce journey to Nairobi to five from current eight hours.
