A smart candidate from Assar Johanson Primary School in Migori town has created a model of coronavirus isolation center which will save Kenya.

Joel Noel Ochieng’, 14, who lives with his parents in Nyamome village said his model will stop government from using learning institution as isolation centers in fight against Covid 19.

“I was concerned of health concern of students who will go back to classroom after the pandemic which made me create the model on pieces of cardboards,” he said.

Ochieng’ said he has developed an isolation center in a remote area of the country in three huge structures that can hold 1,000 patients each.

“Each building will have a holding, quarantine, treatment and recovery centers complete with amenities like toilets, bathroom and recreation centers,” he said.

Ochieng’ said entry points to the facilities and within holding cells will have sterilization points to avoid further spread of the virus.

“Since the place of building the ward is isolated the initial plan will have it on 15 hectares of land next a huge water body for water and sanitation with power coming from solar panels on building roofs,” he said.

He said after watching news on television and several YouTube channels he cam up with the idea of the model which he hopes will be taken up by government of Kenya.
