Migori county returning officer Ruth Kulundu announced ODM candidate Ochillo Ayacko as the winner of county senator seat, ending a bruising battle.

According to the results, out of 388,633 county voters the turnout was very low at 38.02 per cent with 511 votes being rejected.

Ayacko got 85,234 votes which was 57.69 per cent followed by Eddy Oketch of Federal Party of Kenya who got 60,555 votes at 40.99 per cent.

This is what other candidates got:

• Dickson Ogola, Independent Candidate 654 (0.044 per cent)
• Peter Jobando, Green Congress Party 555 (0.38 per cent)
• Samuel Otieno, Independent candidate 457 (0.31 per cent)
• Solomon Hodo, People Democratic Party 285 (0.19 per cent)

Across the constituencies, Ayacko win in seven out of eight with Eddy winning only in Uriri where he hails from Kanyamkago clan together with governor Okoth Obado.
