A bus conductor and 11 alien Tanzanians were charged at Kehancha Court for being the country ilegally.

Duke Omwenga, the conductor and the main suspect in the trafficking saga  was released on a Sh100,000 cash bail after he denied charges of human trafficking  pending mention of the case on February eighth.

The aliens pleaded guilty.

Appearing before Kehancha Principal Magistrate Anne Karimi, the aliens pleaded for leniency after admitting they had booked a bus to various destinations but did not indicate their intentions.

Earlier, police arrested 21 people who were arrested over the weekend as they attempted to sneak into the country through porous Kenyan Tanzanian border.

Three of the suspects who were disabled, were repatriated to Tanzania.

Kehancha Sub County Police Commander Cletti Kimaiyo said Omwenga conspired to traffic the foreigners to various destinations after the bus driver left for his house.

He said the Tanzanian nationals sneaked into the country on January 24 aboard motorbikes to Kehancha town before they were intercepted by police as they were headed to several towns.
