Operations to rescue a Kanga gold miner buried alive on Wednesday afternoon is ongoing.

The miner, only identified as Ja Awendo was buried alive on a mine which had collapsed earlier following a heavy downpour in the area.

Rongo OCPD Kibet Kirui said they have launched a rescue mission for the miner with help of graders from a road construction company working on nearby Kisii-Migori highway.
