Migori church upbeat about multi-billion 30 years project with US church for development, evangelism in region

A church based in Migori county is positive of a roll out of a multi-million shilling project with a partner in United States to help spur development and evangelism in Nyanza region.

The Servants of the Truth Church in Wasimbete ward, Suna West constituency has said it is positive about an upcoming partnership with Saddleback Church, based in California.

Speaking to Migori News in Migori town on Thursday, pastor Jacob Odiwuor Omiti said he had a vision in 2008 which her termed as ‘Reclaiming the church’s role in the missions: a 30 year vision of Servants of the Truth Church.”

The vision is under Redemption Bridge Ministry was to kick off this year, but was affected by Covid 19.

“This was a vision that was given to me by God in 2008, God told me to build a bridge for his people to pass through development and evangelism,” Omiti said.

He said the project will be based in Kisumu City where the mission’s headquarters on a 30 acre piece of land will be erected.

“The campus will cost about Ksh32billion to have a 500 seat worship center with social distance requirement, offices, living unit and a college to tarin next generation on life skills,” he said.

Apart from the complex other programs will include food production and security, construction of houses, provision of clean water, health and mental illness, tackling HIV/AIDS, social cohesion in family, effecient transport and infrasture development and training on life skills.

“We are actively courting support from local leaders and community opinion leaders on this project, so far through God’s grace the response has been very positive,” he said.

He said in his such for partners through writing, God directed him to pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church, based in California USA.

“We communicated with Pastor Warren lat week and the response has been positive, we hope for the best action to ensure the work of Jesus Christ and gospel is preached across the globe,” he said.
