Migori county government can’t use the Sh50m fire engine because there is no county public service board to hire drivers, fire fighters and others, Disaster Management Chief Officer Joshua Ngwala has said.

This comes after fire gutted down property worth Sh4m in Awendo on Monday dawn, a week after a similar incident in Rongo town.

In both incidences locals tried in vain to summon the engine launched with pomp and colour by governor Okoth Obado on October last year.
