Where health department sourced initial Sh41.9million Covid-19 fund- report

The ministry of health headed by executive Isca Oluoch sourced the initial Sh41.9milion funds to fight Covid 19 from internal sources and partners.

In a report tabled and adopted by the assembly by Central Kamagambo MCA and Health Committee chairman James Maende, the funding was in adequate.

This comes as the department has requested for additional Sh295million to help fight the virus which has infected 10 positive cases in Migori by the time of this post.

The report said that a total of Sh41,872,571 was allocated, and its source broken down as follows:

  1. The department received operations money in March and April 2020. The consolidated amount was Kshs. 21,918,181.
  2. The County Government did approve for COVID-19 commodities and equipment worth Kshs. 3,000,000 through IFMIS. The second approval through IFMIS was for commodities worth Kshs. 3,780,000. The third and final approval that was in the process was Kshs. 4,000,000.
  3. The Department of Health had mobilized support from partners worth Kshs. 9,174,390.
