Nyatike MP Tom Odege has challenged government to move with speed and end ongoing medic strike.
Odege said issues raised by medics were minor and government should clear them.
“We know of strikes which call for salary increment, as a union leader those are hardest to tackle. What we have is a minor issue,” Odege said.
The legislator said doctors call for delayed salaries, health cover and getting protective equipment.
“We want government to tackle these issues and avoid digging in with union leaders to ensure Kenyans benefit,” he said.
He said medics rising concern as front line workers against Covid 19 was genuine.
At the same time Odege challenged government to ensure hospitals to be facilities with equipment and adequate staff and not buildings.
“There was a case where a legislator died when he contracted Covid 19 because the local hospital was poorly equipped,” he said.
He said all Kenyans, including legislators should be treated in the nearest hospital easily.
