Two people are feared dead after the boat they were traveling in
capsized at Wath Okello in river Kuja Migori County.

The two Joseph Aloo and Micah Otieno drowned in the swollen river
after the boat sank in the morning as they crossed to attend a church
service.

According to the villagers who spoke to the press said that the two
were crossing the raging water and the boat got filled with water
before it sank deep in the swollen river.

The two were crossing from Wath Okello to Ongiti village for a church
service as the strength of the water swept the boat downstream making
them drown to death.

Uriri member of parliament Mark Nyamita said that the two died because
of lack of a bridge that connects the two villages.

He asked and urged the national and County Governments to come to the
aid of the affected families and also help them find a permanent
solution to the raging floods and the building of the bridge.
