Youths drawn from the Kuria community have thrown their weight behind senator aspirant Eddy Oketch on April 13 ODM primaries and forthcoming general elections.

Led by Matinde Keherema, they said they are waiting for the ODM primaries which should be free and fair.

“We were in the independent ticket and other parties before, but we have made a U-turn just like Ochillo Ayacko and we are firmly in ODM and support Raila Odinga,” Keherema said.

He was speaking in Kehancha town during a press conference that brought youth representative from both Kuria East and Kuria West constituencies.

“As youths we see our aspirations in Eddy and as a minority tribe from Kuria we believe his bid will safeguard our interests,” Keherema said.

His sentiments was shared by Frank ‘Jamaica’ Chacha who said they hope the ODM National Election Board will have free primaries.

“Whichever way the party choose we believe Eddy will emerge the winner,” Chacha said.
