(VIDEO) Form one student at KADIKA GIRLS reports with any empty box, asks for help to join dream school

Form One student at Kadika Girls High School Esther Davina Odhiambo aged 12 reported for admission with an empty box and pleaded with the teachers to accept her with the current condition.

The student from a needy background in Awendo subcounty in Migori could not meet the requirements for admission but was not prepared to lose a chance to join her dream school.

Davina despite not having anything was determined to give it a try and not let the chance go to waste. She reported to school with only a bar of soap, body and a padlock accompanied by her mother Hellen Auma.Davina scored 354 marks in the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations and was unable to get any bursary from all quarters.

According to her mother whose husband died 12 years ago at goldmine site, they only had Ksh.300 which she used as bus fare to Kadika school.She said her health condition of difficulty in breathing cannot allow her do extra work to meet all the family requirements.

Kadika Girls High School Principal Mrs. Roselyn Ochieng however accepted to admit her despite her condition asking well-wishers to come to her aid.

Mrs. Ochieng told her new student to focus in her education and not her family background to succeed.
