Kuria East MP Marwa Kitayama has raffled feathers in the Migori county government by saying a cartel of three are stealing county funds.

Kitayama said the three have been ensuring no funds reach people on the ground to ensure devolution is felt.

“Money is stuck in Migori town, hijacked by the three people who are more powerful than executives and chief officers on funds use,” he said.

“Migori issues are discussed in an office in Nairobi by the three people who then control and eat our money,” Kitayama said.

He said while other leaders have chosen to look away, , he will speak the truth as “the new tone of Migori leadership has come and we are not going to accept this.”

“If you (other constituencies) are happy to have your money eaten in Migor then we don’t have any problem enjoy yourselves. But Kuria people want a governor who won’t eat their money in their own county,” Kitayama said.

His wife Mary Kitayama is the Kuria East sub-county administrator in the county government, which made took the public on surprise on Saturday attack.

But replying to the attack Migori governor Okoth Obado in a WhatsApp message termed the attacks as “pure incitement”

He was speaking at Misadhi SDA Church in Rongo town on Saturday during a funds drive.
