Migori police have launched a manhunt for a man accused of killing his grand-mother in law over marital woes.
The suspected, aged 19 and just sat for his KCPE exams last year committed the heinous act at God Jaoko village last Friday night.
“The suspect stormed the deceased’s home demanding to see his wife who had left him several days ago following marital wrangles,” Area Assistant Chief Charles Onindo said.
The suspect stabbed the that the deceased, identified as 72-year-old Agneta Olum after the two started quarreling.
“The suspect fled to an unknown destination while the granny was rushed to Sibuoche health centre but succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment,” he said.
Her body was then moved to the mortuary.
Following the incident, the administrator added, the deceased’s family in a retaliatory attack stormed the suspect’s home and torched three houses, destroying properties of unknown value.
