Migori police have launched investigations over Monday night incident where a 25-year-old businessman was shot dead at Kamasimo village in Kurutyange sub-location.

Kuria West sub-county Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said gang, whose number is yet to established stole unknown amount of money and gold from the deceased.

“He succumbed to gunshot wounds at the Kuria West sub-county hospital while undergoing treatment, apart from the gunshot wound he also sustained injuries caused by crude weapons,” Kimaiyo said.

He said police officers who were on patrol around the scene of the murder on the said night responded swiftly when they heard gunshots, but the robbers had already fled by the time they arrived at the scene of crime.

He added that the officers found spent cartridges at the scene, further stating that investigations have since been launched into the incident.

The police boss appealed to members of the public to provide any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.
