Tanzanians have been accused of begging in Migori town and giving disabled people a bad name.

Two MCAs and stakeholders has urged Migori county government to ensure the beggars are removed from Migori town streets.

They said stakeholders have worked closely with disabled people and their families to ensure a support system which stopped begging.

Influx of Tanzania beggars has risked reversing the gains.

Abedi Maroa (Masaba) and Eunice Mboya (Nominated) now want Migori county government to send packing those beggars.

“These Tanzania beggars paint us in bad picture yet PLD in Migori have been empowered and given opportunity to do different activities that enable them support them,” said Maroa.

He added: “We shall mobilize ourselves and cane them out of the streets, there are many things that PLD can do. Parents who hide their kids because of disability shall also be charged for denying their kids opportunity to get education,”

Eunice Mboya, who represents PLD in Migori County Assembly said that there should be unity among the PLD in order to allow their voices be heard.
