Students affected by floods in Nyatike to be transferred to other schools~ Cherutich

Migori County commissioner Boaz Cherutich has said plans are underway to transfer students from schools adversely affected by floods in Nyatike to nearby schools.

This comes as continue heavy downpour has pounded Nyatike with estimated over 800 families disaplaced as River Kuja has broken its banks.

schools in Angugo, Nyora, Modi and Lwanda have been affected with a team from national, county governments and Kenya Red Cross out to assess the situation.

“I have directed the education ministry, local administration and the Kenya Red cross to visit the affected school and give details of their findings. We are planning to relocate the pupils to neighboring schools” Cherutich.
