Kenya National of Teachers Union (KNUT) has issued a September 1, 2018 deadline nation-wide strike notice of its members if Ministry of Education fails to reverse the delocalization process imposed on teachers.

The Union through its Secretary General Mr. Wilson Sossion said the delocalization imposed on teachers is punitive with an aim to distabalize the union hence Kenyan teachers would do everything possible to reverse it.

Mr. Sossion who was speaking at Assar Johson Primary school in Migori town during KNUT Migori Branch Annual General Meeting added the move to delocalize teachers further breaks families and demoralize teachers.

Mr. Sossion also claimed the current wave of fire in Secondary schools is attributed to the ongoing delocalization.

He therefore asked techers affiliated to both Knut and Kuppet to remain united and resist any deceitful attempts to create anemnity between them saying a unity of purpose is the only weepon teachers have to fight their percieved government oppressive policies.

He also took a swipe on Knec Chair Prof Magoa of meddling on education affairs by trying to attribute the current wave of schools’ fire on exams fear.
