Elders from Suba Council have called on President William Ruto to pay development visit to Suna East and Suna West constituencies despite local legislators avoiding his Nyanza region development tours.
The two constituencies straddling Migori town are represented by Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and Suna West MP Peter Masara, staunch allies of opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Suba Council of Elders chairman Riogi Riogi and Secretary Okumu Ngwala said they have been awed as Ruto has skipped the two constituencies with chopper rides as he visited Kuria West, Kuria East, Awendo, Rongo and Uriri constituencies in last two tours.
“We have been left looking up at the sky as Ruto’s choppers fly over Migori town which is the county headquarters and our two constituencies, we have been looking other areas receive development while we are starved,” Riogi said.
Okumu said time for elections will come in 2027 and the two legislators should help facilitate Ruto’s visit in the area.
Suna East politician Elijah Odhiambo said there are several development agenda they need as a region.
