Kong’udi villagers in East Kamagambo ward, Rongo are still reeling in shock after a boy, 16, committed suicide after the mother sent him to graze.

Mike Amollo’s body was found dangling from a tree situated in the middle of a sugar plantation near their home.

The boy, a student at Winyo Christian Academy in Rongo was sent by the mother to fetch the family cow home.

“He took long before coming home and the mother decided to go bring the cows. We had a long search through out the night,” his father Benard Odete said.

In the morning, the body, dangling from a tree, with a rope around his neck was found by a search team.

Police arrived at the scene took Amollo’s body to Rosewood Hospital’s morgue.
