#PlasticBanKe: Migori NEMA issues 13 plastic drop off points

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) officials in Migori County have finally identified 13 plastic drop points of banned plastic carrier and flat plastic bags within Migori County.

Speaking to the press, the County Director Mr. Parnwel Simitu said that the 13 points are as follows; Rongo 3points, Awendo 3points, Migori Town 3points, Sori Town 2points, Isebania 1point and Kehancha 1 point.

Simitu urged the public to atleast follow the instruction in order to keep the surrounding clean and to respect environment. He warned those who Will not do as instructed saying That the culprits Will be heavily fined and arrested as indicated in the constitution.

He appreciated Migori residents on precautions that they have been taking terming it as self-respect and love for the nature.

He said that the plastic bags ban will still enforced in all the trading centers in the county and asked the residents to comply with the ban by seeking other options to carry their goods from the markets.

Rongo town: Tamu supermarket, Serian Supermart and Kodesh Mall.
Awendo Town: Shivling Supermarket, Sony Sugar Company and Awendo market
Migori: Bansi Supermarket and Shivling Supermarkets
Sori: One Stop Supermarket and Nice Supermarket
Kehancha: Belinda’s Shop.
Isebania: Tagat Supermarket
