Migori governor aspirant on ODM ticket, businessman Robert Okong’o Ja Migori bid has received a major boost after elders endorsement.

With primaries slotted for April 16, elders from populous Nyatike constituency endorsed the aspirant at Wath Ong’er center.

Armed with traditional regalias, Okong’o whose mother hails from the area was given blessings to be the next county CEO.

“Elders and opinion shapers from Nyatike approached me for the endorsement and blessings after sharing with them my development blueprint which will be around peace, unity and inclusivity,” Okong’o said.

Ezekiah Obondo and Charles Odira, among elders who organized the coronation said the event was organized for the first governor aspirant in the area.

“As elders Okong’o Ja Migori is the first governor aspirant we have endorsed from Nyatike, the coronation is binding as a constituency,” Obondo said.

Ochola Nyaundi, an elder said among several governor aspirants who seek to replace governor Okoth Obado in next polls they settled on Okong’o Ja Migori.

“We have leaders who held public offices before and have no development track record to show, we settled on Ja Migori as a fresh face with fresh ideas on leadership,” he said.

Mary Auma who represented women during the ceremony said plans to boost women groups with posho mills from the aspirant attracted them as voters.
