OPINION POLL: Woman Rep race hots up as Ghati closes gap on leader Fatuma, Hellen Obado trails third

Nominated MP Dennitah Ghati has gained ground against Fatuma Mohamed in a latest released pollster closing gap to within a whisker after ODM primaries.

In a poll released by Mizani Africa, Mohammed who is an independent candidate was still ahead by 34.8% approval rating followed closely by the ODM candidate who had 33.9%.

In polls released on May 30 by the same pollster, Mohammed was ahead with 53 per cent followed by Ghati who had 21.3 per cent, showing a significant shift ahead of August 9 polls.

In the latest poll, Hellen Obado, wife of governor Obado and the heaviest spender in the race that has attracted six other candidates came a distant third at 18.7 per cent. Helen is also the newest entrant in the race.

She is followed by former Ramogi FM presenter Josephine Sirega who garned 7.8 per cent and Lillian Akugo at 3.7 per cent. Only undecided 0.7 per cent of voters are undecided.
