OPINION POLL: Nyamita locks Uriri MP race with 56.6%, Obado’s man Kwaga trails at 29.9%

Uriri MP Mark Nyamita has soared in a recently released opinion poll despite a looming political shadow from Migori governor Okoth Obado in the backyard.

All eyes have been on Nyamita, the ODM candidate in Uriri where Deputy President William Ruto’s Nyanza point man Obado hails from.

A poll released by Mizani Africa today gave Nyamita a comfortable lead at 56.6% of voters, while Obado’s ally Jared Kwaga who will be on the ballot as an Independent candidate getting 29.9%.

A total of undecided voters stood at 13.5%, a big margin but may not tilt the scales ahead of August 9 polls.

Nyamita has been working on a campaign strategy of creating committees at each polling center, including all communities in the constituency in development projects and haveing several meet the people tours to cement his lead.
