The next Migori Woman Representative in the forthcoming elections is likely to be independent candidate Fatuma Mohammed, an opinion poll has found.
The poll by Mizani Africa released on May 30 placed Fatuma at the helm with 53 per cent followed by the first woman representative and nominated MP Dennitah Ghati who had 21.3 per cent.
Josephine Sirega had 12.8 percent, Lydia Nyangala (9.1), 2.1 of the respondents were undecided while the rest had a paltry 1.0 percent.
Fatuma and Ghati had protracted ODM primaries, which was upheld by the party after another candidate Zilpah Audline went to the party triburnal.
Ghati was declared winner of the exercise, defeating her main challenger, Ms Fatuma Mohammed, by garnering 37,792 votes against the latter’s 23,552.
