OPINION POLL: Ayacko leads governor candidates at 48.8%, Pesa second at 27.4% and Dalmas third. See how they fare per constituency

Migori senator Ochillo Ayacko is the most likely second governor of Migori according to a pollster.

On August 9, Migori voters will pick a governor to replace Okoth Obado who will retire after his term ends.

Mizani Africa on May 30 released a poll that placed Ayacko, who is the ODM candidate ahead in a ten candidates race with 48.8% of voters showing their support for him in his second stab at the seat.

Former Migori MP John Pesa comes second on DAP-K ticket with 27.4% while former Rongo MP Dalmas Otieno on Jubilee Party ticket comes third with 16.5% followed by Owiso Ngao who will garner 5.5% of votes..

Only 0.9% of voters are undecided which places the following governor candidates at a precarious place according to the pollster.

The others who failed to make a blip on the poll numbers are: Rebecca Maroa (UDA), Jane Moronge (UPIA), Robert Okong’o (Independent), Byron Oginga (LDP), Philip Mwabe (Independent) among others.

According to Mizani Africa here is how Ayacko, Pesa and Dalmas share popularity across eight constituencies:

  • Rongo: Ayacko 70%, Pesa 5% and Dalmas 25%
  • Awendo: Ayacko 73%, Pesa 3% and Dalmas 24%
  • Nyatike: Ayacko 30%, Pesa 48% and Dalmas 22%
  • Suna East: Ayacko 35%, Pesa 57% and Dalmas 8%
  • Suna West: Ayacko 40%, Pesa 45% and Dalmas 15%
  • Uriri: Ayacko 40%, Pesa 50% and Dalmas 10%
  • Kuria East and Kuria West: Ayacko 58%, Pesa 24% and Dalmas 18%

Ayacko has also been trending in two previous public opinion polls.

Between November 7-14 Mizani Africa did an opinion poll that gave Ayacko a 31.4% lead, Dalmas had 25.5% while John Pesa had 17.5%.

Robert Okong’o had 11.4%, Mark Ogutu had 9.1%, Christopher Rusana had 3.9% while 1.2% f voters were undecided.

On March, CORG did another survey which also placed Ayacko ahead of the pack with 32.7% followed by Dalmas Otieno who had 28.3% and John Pesa who had 17.9%.

In the poll Omondi Anyanga had 6.9% while others had 14.2%.
