Nyatike residents have called on president William Ruto to ensure completion of C-13 road stalled after an infamous incident.

The road which was to start from Muhuru Bay-Migori-Kehancha-Lolgorien-Narok was stalled at Masara center after former President Uhuru Kenyatta had shoes thrown at him.

After the incident the progress of the road stalled completely.

“This road has been our rallying call, it has been the main agenda we choose to support Ruto and we are hopeful his pronouncement will be key in solving it,” Odiso Ogenga, a local leader said.

He was speaking at Senye Primary School in Muhuru Bay town when elders, youths and leaders met.

“We have people who say Luos should be part of government, that is an understatement as a community we are fully in it,” Ogenga said.

He said as local leaders they have been working closely with the government to ensure not only the road, but also other projects are completed.

“Ruto himself came to Muhuru Bay severally and we even cocked tea and potatoes for him, we are part of his election,” he said.

Janet Adhiambo, a resident who cocked for Ruto and was promised a house said as an area they will not take part in mass action and demonstrations planned by opposition.

“We are supporting Ruto and his administration. We campaigned for him here and we are not part of these demonstrations. We want to see his hand in development to pass a message,” she said.

Odhiambo Machira, a local said as residents they were shocked when incidents in Migori town denied them a chance to see the first tarmacked road in the area.

“Now we again hear that they are people who are out to frustrate the road from being completed, we directly appeal to Ruto to ensure the road is completed,” Machira said.
