Odii supporters demo against Mbadi after ODM nullify Central Kanyamkago ward win

The demo

A section of Central Kanyamkago ward voters have held demos against Orange Democratic Movement party for cancellation of party primaries results.

Angry voters singled out the party chair John Mbadi for undermining Eunice Odii who won in the exercise.

The party chair is suspected to be liaising with Migori county ODM party officials to favour other leaders in the region.

“We believe it is through his hands (Mbadi) that our leader has been snatched the ticket,” said one of the voters.

They warn that the trick the party is using of recalling back party tickets from the people’s desired aspirants will see the party losing ground support.

“Let the party know that we are aware of their tricks and we are not pleased. We will not vote for them if they continue.” Declared another voter.

Odii was declared the winner for Central Kanyamkago Ward with a total of 632 votes.

The results showed that she beat her closest rival Florence Abich who got 619 with the incumbent MCA Alex Akugo coming fourth with 195 votes.

Akugo has already picked a walking stick or okwaju in dholuo as his symbol as he seeks to defend his seat on Independent ticket.

The fuming voters swore to vote for Deputy President William Ruto’s outfit United Democratic Alliance, UDA, should their grievances not be addressed.
