Migori governor Okoth Obado is facing a political headache with campaigns taking full throttle after workers issued a issued a 14 days strike notice to his administration.

They are demanding unfulfilled CBA on the payment of Sh34Million on salaries and deduction agreed on December 21 last year when they went on strike.

Migori county government workers union executive secretary Baraza Nguka told Migori News that they have already served county secretary Christopher Rusana with a notice.

The notice has also been copied to COTU, Migori county commissioner among other offices.

“After a week of strike we signed an agreement that the county government was to pay us Sh67million for the first installment by 31st January 2017 which we have not received,” he said.

He said the chief officer finance Samuel Omuga in the recent past said he has only allocated Sh4million for the payment of the salaries and arrears demanded by the workers.

“The county assembly in its supplementary budget allocated Sh75Million for the payment of our salaries and deductions, where is the money?” he posed.

He has vowed to push on with the strike that will paralyse operation in the county.

Rusanna insisted that the strike is uncalled for saying that they will be paying the Ksh.67Million in bits because the county government is also getting money in bits from the national government .
