Obado should step aside after getting Sh5m bail- Makabong’o

Migori ODM chairperson Philip Makabong’o has warned governor Okoth Obado celebrating his jail terms that he should step aside as governor.

Obado was released on Sh5million bail after he appeared before Justice Jessy Lessit, Obado over the murder of his girl friend Sharon Otieno and their unborn son.

His two aides, Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero, were denied bail.

The three have been facing charges over the murder of Obado’s girlfriend Sharon Otieno and his unborn baby.

His supporters celebrated the move, but Makabong’o, a major critic of Obado, said it was sad that Obado supporters were celebrating his release on bail

He warned them that he will still face impeachment and should just step aside.

“We know it is his right to get bail, but he should step aside and never resume public office after being adversely mentioned in the murder he should think twice and step aside,” he said.

He statement comes after he gave MCAs two weeks to impeach Obado.
