Migori governor Okoth Obado has claimed there are 10 points in the impeachment motion against him despite the motion not being public.
Obado, according to the Standard newspaper on Wednesday said his political nemesis senator Ochilo Ayacko personally met several MCAs in Kisii town and wrote the 10 points against him.
The paper said Obado “claimed that during the Kisii meeting chaired by Ayacko, a 10-point impeachment motion was drafted with the help of a former magistrate.”
Obado did not bother, according to the report, to highlight the points.
“The senator met MCAs and fake party delegates to discuss the motion. He told them to toe the line or face the consequences. They are also scheming to oust Speaker Boaz Okoth and take unspecified action against MCAs,” Obado is quoted.
He accused Ayacko of being behind the motion accusing him of not being loyal to the ODM party before.
Obado said if his rivals don’t use police and investigative agencies like EACC to intimidate his political ally Boaz Okoth and friendly MCAs then, the motion is dead on arrival.
““If due process is followed, the impeachment motion will be dead on arrival,” Obado said.
But in a quick rejoinder, Ayacko called Obado a curios idler.
“I wonder how anyone would want me to start commenting on what I can only refer to as idle curiosity,” Ayacko said.
